The Australian Poker League has sprung somewhat of a surprise with the news that it will hold not one but two APL Million series in 2027.
Riding off the back of the hugely successful APL Million currently taking place on the Gold Coast, the company has revealed that it will rekindle its on again-off again relationship with Star Entertainment Group by returning to The Star Sydney for a 20-day APL Million festival from 24 February to 15 March 2027.
It will then hold a second APL Million for the year back at its current home at Southport Sharks on the Gold Coast in August – doubling the fun for the Aussie poker community.
The Star Sydney was of course the original home of the APL Million when it first launched in 2017, before relocating to the Gold Coast in 2021 during the pandemic.
Its impending return comes as the APL celebrates a record-breaking 2026 APL Million Main Event which on Friday became the largest tournament ever staged on Australian soil with 3,614 entries across 10 Day 1 flights.
The winner of the Main Event is set to take home a massive $775,400.
