Xu eliminated before the End of Day 2
The Lord Poker Tour $25K International has drawn to a close at the end of Level 21 to bag and come back for a third day and decide a Champion. Play will recommence at 1:30pm, which means live coverage on Twitch, YouTube, or the APTLive Facebook page will kick off from 2pm.
Meanwhile, Gavin Xu has been playing shove-or-fold poker for most of the level since making the money – and promptly did jam for his 1.47million short stack after he looked down at A♣9♠.
Yoon Kang elected to flat call from the button with A♠J♣ before the blinds let their hands go, and it was cards on their backs as the Chinese contingent began calling for a “Jiǔ” – that’s nine in Mandarin, for the benefit of any Aussies reading.
It would not materialise on the 3♣10♠K♠4♠10♦ board, however, and Gavin Xu was eliminated in 4th place for an $88,000 pay day. We were unable to locate a HendonMob profile for Xu – could this be his first recorded score?

Huang out to dry
Yoon Kang opened to 180,000 with A♦5♦ from the button, before Quan Zhou flatted the out of the small blind with K♣Q♠.
For Huang, it was a perfect spot to squeeze – and he did so, jamming with 6♥6♦. Kang opted to fold, but Zhou snap called behind to put Huang at risk.
The flop of 3♦7♣J♠ was favourable for Huang, but the 7♥ on the turn brought with it opportunities for Zhou to counterfeit Huang; and he recognised them, yelling “Picture!” to the gathered crowd.
The river, the J♦, turning Huang’s hand to dust and reducing the table to 4 players remaining. For his result, Huang will collect $71,500, while Quan Zhou catapults into the chip lead.

Sosia Jiang eliminated on the bubble
Down to just five big blinds after a rough few orbits, New Zealand’s Sosia Jiang three bet jammed for her last 275,000 over Gary Lin’s under-the-gun A♠Q♠ open.
After Vincent Huang relinquished his big blind and ante, Lin snap-called to put Jiang and her 8♦8♣ at risk.
The flop of 3♠A♣7♠ absolutely smashed Lin’s holdings, and the K♥ actually turned Jiang dead – not that she knew at the time, but the 8♥ had already been folded pre-flop by another player. The 5♦ completed the board.
The bubble has therefore burst, with every player remaining guaranteed a minimum of $71,500.

Kahle Burns burns out
The APTLive commentators have made the same joke a few times over the last few days – if you’re a tournament director, and you want a tournament to end quicker, you put the deck in the hands of dealer extraordinaire Tayla Pickles. Obviously more of a joke at Tayla’s expense, she does have somewhat of a reputation – whether deserved or not – for dealing out crushing blows, coolers, bad beats, or just all of the above…
So when Tayla sat down to deal and Quan Zhou opened under-the-gun a few hands later with J♥J♣… we paid attention. Zhou almost just stole the blinds… until Kahle Burns woke up in the big blind with K♦K♣.
Burns upped the ante to 375,000, and Zhou jammed, immediately called by Burns. With 3.2million in the pot, Zhou had Burns covered by just one big blind.
The flop looked innocuous – 3♥9♦8♦. But it was to be a true Tayla special; the run out of 7♣, 10♥ ending the run of Burns just outside the money – any shot at a second title for Burns after winning The Lord Poker Tour Opening Event on Monday coming to a brutal end.

Lynskey, Trayner out of contention
Left short after Yoon Kang’s incredible bluff, Alex Lynskey never managed to rebuild, getting shorter and shorter before action folded to him in the small blind and he found a jam with 10♦2♦.
Quan Zhou looked him up with A♠7♦, and got all of the unnecessary help he could ask for as the board ran out 7♠4♣3♣7♣ to turn Lynskey dead, the A♥ on the river qualifying as little more than overkill.
Malcolm Trayner found a spot to squeeze, shoving A♦Q♣ with his short stack after an open from Sosia Jiang was called by Vincent Huang. Jiang got out of the way, but Huang had set the trap with J♥J♣, and would eliminate Trayner after the board ran 5♣9♠K♠6♣5♠.

Kangster
Much publicised after his ninth place finish in The Lord Poker Tour Main Event yesterday, Yoon Kang has been making plays on the $25K International Final Table.
Kang has been directly responsible for not one, but two incredible bluffs against two of Australia’s most accomplished poker pros.
In the first, with blinds at 10,000/25,000 (25,000), Alex Lynskey opened the action under-the-gun to 50,000 with Q♣J♣, only to get flat-called by Quan Zhou (A♠10♠), Gary Lin (9♠9♥), and Kang in the small blind with A♦8♦. A rather bemused looking Kahle Burns then completed from the big blind with K♥8♥ to set up a five way flop in a $25K buy-in tournament.

The turn J♦ served to effectively lock up the hand for Lynskey – but it was Kang who led out for 90,000 with second pair. Burns flatted with the inferior kicker, before Lynskey flat-called behind, both Zhou and Lin electing to get out of the way.
Kang then checked the 2♠ river, the pot now worth 545,000. Burns checked behind. And the rest? Needs to be seen to be believed.
Later on with blinds at 20,000/40,000 (40,000), and after the above hand had been broadcast to the table (a rare chance to listen to Burns and Lynskey breaking down a hand made for fascinating viewing on the live stream), action folded to Kang in the small blind, who min-clicked to 80,000 into the big blind of Burns.
Burns elected to under-rep and flat-call with 9♦9♣, and the dealer spread a flop of 2♥J♣J♦. Kang then check-raised a 75,000 bet from Burns to 215,000. Burns made the call.
A 3♣ on the turn. Kang led for 345,000. Burns took his time, burning time bank chips, but called again.
The Q♠ appeared on the river. Kang mulled over his options, spending two or three time bank chips in the process, before announcing a bet of 900,000, sending Burns into a world of hurt of his own – still several players shy of the money bubble.

With those hands (and a few others), Kang has climbed into the chip lead at the time of writing, with 5.4million.

The Warne Bounty event has reached a conclusion after an action packed two days, highlighted by APT commentator Harvey Silver, one of the ‘celebrity bounties’ in the event, reaching the Final Table.
Featuring doubled $200 Bounties on celebrities such as Jackson Warne, Jeff Horn, Brendan Fevola, Steven Baker, and Chris Walker, it was ultimately Queensland resident Rob Taylor who claimed victory, taking home $10,350 and $1,000 in bounties, along with one of the beautiful APT ‘pillar’ trophies.
For a second, it looked like Travis Endersby might take it down, after Endersby went for seconds straight after finishing second in yesterday’s TLPT Main Event for a $214,350 score. Endersby ran up a stack last night, bagging nearly double the second-biggest stack, but today could only secure a second runner-up finish in two days.
Endersby is no stranger to second place, with runner-up finishes in the Stacked Poker Championship Super High Roller, Australian Poker Open (APO) ‘Warm-Up’, APO Seniors Championship, WPT Cambodia $5K Single Day Challenge, and just last week, the WPT Australia Championship Main Event. And that’s all just in 2024. Endersby also managed second in a 2019 Aussie Millions 6-Max Event.
APT commentator Harvey Silver fell in sixth place, his Ace-King rivered by Ace-Jack – and of course ran straight to the commentary box to regale the story.

Renji Mao eliminated; TLPT Final Table set
Alex Lynskey opened the action before Renji Mao shoved for 635,000 total (25BB) with 5♠5♣. Sosia Jiang just flat called from late position, her bigger stack covering both players and possibly hoping to keep Lynskey in the pot, only to see Lynskey jump out of the way very quickly, flashing Q♣J♣ as he did so.
Jiang’s K♠K♦ was a mile ahead of Mao’s lower pocket pair, and held through the 4♦4♣3♥10♦9♠ board to leave nine players still competing in this TLPT $25K International.

Following the elimination of short stack Octavian Voegele on the feature table, just 12 players remain in today’s TLPT $25K International Day 2.
The payouts have officially been announced, with the eventual Champion taking home $332,250 – the biggest first place prize this series – whilst the new-car-sized bubble will be at 5 players; fifth claiming $71,500.
Yoon Kang has been moved to the feature table to replace Voegele – despite max-late-regging the event, Kang has built a stack of 1.955million already, nearly 15% of the chips in play.

Late registration has officially closed with a handful of max-late-reg entrants in The Lord Poker Tour $25K International event. 34 entries in total brought the total prize pool to $794,750 – we’ll bring you the pay-outs as soon as they are announced.
Among the late entrants were Aussie WSOP bracelet winner Malcolm Trayner, TLPT Main Event winner Andy Lee, James Hopkins, and New Zealand’s Thomas Ward, who our readers may remember from his historic ‘chip and a chair’ run in the TLPT Opening Event.
TLPT Main Event final tablists Alex Lynskey and Yoon Kang have also clicked the max-late-reg button. Lynskey will undoubtedly be hoping to build on his fifth place finish in that event, while Kang will be looking to avoid a repeat of the much-discussed incident where he was eliminated – by Lynskey – two from the money.
The hand in question saw Kang 3-bet jammed with A♦8♣ from the small blind against the big blind of Travis Endersby; but it appeared that Kang may perhaps not have been aware of the fact that Lynskey had opened the action earlier in the hand. Endersby got out of the way before Lynskey eventually made the call with 9♥9♦ to eliminate Kang.

Warne Bounty extended to two days; In the money!
The much-hyped Warne Bounty event – with a doubled bounty on a host of celebrities in the field – attracted a massive 200 entries entries yesterday, and as such, had to be extended through to a second day.
Travis Endersby, after a runner-up finish to Andy Lee in yesterday’s TLPT Main Event, late-regged the bounty tournament at the suggestion of a friend. “I had to oblige!” laughed Endersby, confirming that his mammoth bag of 940,500 was indeed correct, “We are now in the money.”
Endersby’s bag was certainly good enough for the overnight chip lead, nearly double that of the nearest fellow competitor in Ruiyang Wang with 520,500. Those two, and all the other remaining players (full list below) have already played a few levels today. St Kilda AFL veteran of 203 games, Steven Baker remains in contention as a Celebrity Bounty, accompanied in that category by the voice of the APTLive streams, and one of the original producers of The Footy Show, Harvey Silver.
24 entries from the 200 starting making the money, and now 23 remain after Anatoliy Kolbasin was eliminated on the bubble, though still collecting $100 for scoring a bounty at some point during the action. Lara Jones was then eliminated inside the money for a $400 pay day, with no bounties acquired.

Burns leads TLPT 25K Day 2
While Andy Lee was manoeuvring from short stack to victory in the $15K TLPT Main Event yesterday, the third of the big buy-in TLPT events was getting underway across the room.
The much anticipated $25K International, operating with a delayed start due to the Main Event extending to Day 3, kicked off at 2:30pm on Wednesday, and throughout the day attracted 23 entrants to create a prize pool of $537,625 thus far – late registration is open until the end of Level 13 and, as is the norm with high roller events nowadays, a host of max-late-reg entrants are expected.
Kahle Burns, who now has a TLPT trophy in his repertoire following victory in the $7.5K TLPT Opening Event earlier this week, leads the pack with a monstrous 2.2million.
Other players to bag up over a milly included Gary Lin and Gavin Xu, while TLPT Main Event Champion Andy Lee late registered to bag 979K. New Zealand’s Vincent Huang and Sosia Jiang will be back in action today, whilst Dan “Jungleman” Cates will have some work to do, returning with a stack on the shorter side.
