Aussies underway as 2024 WSOP kicks off in Las Vegas

The World Series of Poker has officially kicked off in Las Vegas with a strong contingent of Aussies either already in Sin City or preparing to head over in the coming days and weeks.

This year’s WSOP is offering an incredible 99 bracelet events across more than seven weeks of action at Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas, looking to surpass last year’s series which included a record-breaking Main Event that topped 10,000 entries for the very first time.

And while the 2024 WSOP Main Event is still some five weeks away, the series is off to a flying start with 493 players registering for the opening event: the $5k Champions Reunion NLHE Freezeout.

Australia’s Didier Guerin and Sean Ragozzini were among the starting field with Ragozzini making it through to Day 2 before busting a short time ago.

Never mind, they’ll have plenty of company soon with the likes of Joe Hachem, Yita Choong, Jarred Graham, Najeem Ajez, Adam Kharman, Daniel Neilson, Bert Perry, Jen Cassell, Alex Lynskey, Michel Bouskila, Robert Spano, Robert Damelian, Mike Maddocks, Ehsan Amiri, Huss Hassan and Stevan Chew among those confirmed to be making their way to Vegas this year.
