Hachem in the mix as big names make their move on WPT World Championship Day 1C

Joe Hachem

Joe Hachem was Australia’s shining light on Day 1C of the WPT World Championship on an afternoon where some of the game’s biggest names made their presence felt.

Hachem will return on Saturday with 430,000 in chips, while Rehman Kassam is also strong with 413,000. Adrian Pacheco had a tougher day at the felt but still made it through in decent shape after grinding his way to 182,000.

But at the pointy end of the chip counts, three players sit atop the million chip mark, including three-time WSOP bracelet winner and high-stakes crusher Chance Kornuth (1,130,000) and 2019 WSOP bracelet winner Hossain Ensan (1,100,000).

There were 973 entries on Day 1C, taking the three-day total to 2,312 and leaving some work to do for the WPT World Championship to cover its US$40 million guarantee.
