Ethan “Rampage” Yau wins WPT Australia Mini Main for $148,910

Popular poker vlogger and high stakes player Ethan Yau, also known as “Rampage”, has made his mark on WPT Australia after taking down the $2k “Mini Main” event overnight, cashing for $148,910.

Yau, who won the WPT $25k High Roller at last year’s WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas for US$894,240 (AU$1.39 million), topped a field of 416 entries to claim the title, defeating Jack Drake heads-up after a marathon final day that ran into the very early hours of the morning. He had to do it the hard way though, sitting as one of the shorter stacks with two tables remaining before making a charge when it mattered most. “Rampage” also wins a WPT Prime Championship passport and package worth $6,000 for his efforts.

PokerMedia Australia will endeavour to sit down with Yau to discuss his win later today.
