The Australian Poker League has announced the upcoming launch of its own poker room in Broadmeadow, in the coastal NSW city of Newcastle.
The Raise Poker Room at Hamilton North Bowling Club will open its doors on Sunday 8 October with a $30,000 GTD launch event featuring a $350 buy-in, while the weekly schedule will include at least 10 games per week. There will also be a regular quarterly series, with all schedules to be released soon.
APL said the Raise Poker Room would incorporate “top-tier equipment” to “deliver a poker experience like no other”.
The launch follows on from the recent success of the APL Million, which saw series prize pools total more than $10 million and the Main Event – won by Sean Ooi – becoming the largest ever tournament held on Australian soil with a whopping 2,496 entries.
