Following a knockout blitz of several opponents on the felt through the course of Day 1, Edi Fang has emerged as the chip leader for the WPT Prime Gold Coast $10K Super High Roller.
Speaking briefly with PokerMedia Australia at the end of the night, Fang revealed that it was his first time playing at the Gold Coast, and he had come to play and visit friends from his working home of Malaysia.
Fang was very happy with his performance through the day, fresh off the back of a cash result in the Main Event earlier today. Continuing his grind into the Super High Roller, he showed no lack of energy as he powered through the night and ran his stack up to just shy of four million in chips.
Play is due to recommence tomorrow (Monday) from 1:00pm AEST, with the seat draw and our live coverage for Day 2 continuing here.
