A wonderful day: Peter Peeters bags chip lead after Day 1A of WPT Australia Opening Event Mystery Bounty

Peter Peeters‘ WPT Australia series has gotten off to a flying start after bagging the chip lead after Day 1A of the $1,350 buy-in Opening Event Mystery Bounty.

The Brisbanite sealed up 764,000 in chips, and was amongst the 30 players advancing through to Saturday’s Day 2 from the 194-strong field. Wing Men Tan (640,000), Yiteng Ge (481,000), Dan Smiljanic (477,000) and Mishel Anunu (472,000) rounded out the top five.

“It’s been a wonderful day!” Peeters exclaimed in his interview with PokerMedia Australia. “A culmination of a lot of cards just going my way … and I was getting good hands!”

Having played other Mystery Bounty events in the past, Peeters remarked that from what he experienced at The Star Gold Coast today, this event was “in a different class.”

Peeters now plans to rest up before returning on Day 2 with one goal: “Just knock everyone out and grab one of those boomerang trophies!”
