Jennifer Cassell has completed an epic all-female trifecta, joining Luci Bonaccorso and Michelle Cochrane in the winner’s circle after winning the Star Gold Coast Champs Main Event.
The 23-year-old Queenslander, who broke through for her first mid-tier title at the APT Brisbane series earlier this year, defeated a field of 495 entries to earn almost $97,000 in cash after cutting a three-way ICM deal with Craig Abernethy and 2021 APL Ville 600 Main Event Champion Lee Bradbury.

The victory was all the more impressive given that Cassell only took up the game four years ago and she was almost lost for words in the wake of her outstanding achievement.
“I was just so happy to make it [through to Day 3],” Cassell said during her post-match interview with PokerMedia Australia. “When I bagged for Day 2 I only had 14.5 big blinds, so to be honest I didn’t think I was going to even make a min-cash, but as soon as I made that I was rapt.”
“It’s just so insane to win it … the money is crazy, it doesn’t feel real to me.”
