After an epic day of action across the felt at The Star Gold Coast, the final table of the 2022 Star Gold Coast Champs Main Event has been confirmed.
Leading the Main Event final eight is Michael Brahim with 4.76 million in chips; the Poker Palace grinder is no stranger to the big time, finishing ninth in the 2019 Goliath Main Event in Las Vegas for USD $21,432 – his biggest tournament cash to date.
Fellow Sydneysiders Jarrod Thatcher and Najeem Ajez are also well in contention to take the Main Event trophy back across the border, as well as Jennifer Cassell, Craig Abernethy and Lee Bradbury, who have all made their mark on the mid-tier circuit throughout the last two years.

A total of 89 players returned for Day 2 of the $1,500 buy-in tournament, with the bubble bursting midway through the second level of play. From there, the action moved at lightning speed, with bust-outs coming through thick and fast until Luci Bonaccorso (10th place) and Josh McCully (9th place) were eliminated simultaneously on different tables during hand-for-hand play.

This resulted in both players being awarded an equal share of the total prize money ($11,998) for their respective placings, as per the Star Entertainment Group Terms & Conditions.
The stage is now set for one of the most memorable final table battles in recent history and PokerMedia Australia will be there right until the final river falls, so be sure to follow pokermedia.com.au from 11:30am AEST for all the Main Event final table highlights, as well as our Day 2 coverage of the $2,500 Shot Clock from 12:30pm.
