PokerMedia Australia (PMA), in association with Showdown Entertainment, is pleased to announce its latest collaboration, signing on as the Official Media Partner for the WPT League Quarterly Poker Championship (QPC) series.
First held in 2016, the QPC is now among the country’s most prestigious poker series and holds the record for the largest poker tournament ever held in the Southern Hemisphere, garnering 2,405 entries for the Main Event back in February last year.
As the nation’s number one poker industry news source, the decision to bring PMA in as Official Media Partners was made easy, according to WPT League Head of Event Management Mitch Caton.
“Since I began my career in this industry, I’ve always kept a strong focus on delivering professional, world-class events for our players,” Caton said, “and I have no doubt that PMA’s media coverage will enhance that experience.”
The agreement will see PMA provide exclusive live coverage for all marquee events under the WPT League banner in Queensland and Tweed Coast throughout 2022, commencing with the first of four QPCs to be held at Seagulls Club from 23 to 27 February.
PMA will provide feature articles for each QPC series via their website, with regular written, photo and video content via the PMA and WPT League social media channels.
“Time and time again, the QPC has raised the bar when it comes to the planning and execution of mid-tier tournament series in Australia,” said PMA’s Head of Content Landon Blackhall.
“PMA is thrilled to be joining forces with Mitch and the WPT League and we look forward to bringing our audience all the action as it happens from wherever they may be.”
