The Queensland poker community has yet another big tournament series coming their way with Star Poker announcing the Star Poker Gold Coast Summer Series, to be held at The Star Gold Coast from 26 November to 6 December.
The Star Poker Gold Coast Summer Series will be the first major tournament series to be held at The Star Gold Coast since May’s WPTDeepStacks series, with plans for a WPT main tour stop in October having to be put on hold due to the recent COVID-19 outbreaks in NSW and Victoria.
With a main event buy-in of $1,100 and six events priced at $440 or under, it also provides a unique opportunity for players to experience elite tournament poker in a casino setting.
There are nine events in total on the Star Poker Gold Coast Summer Series schedule, starting with the $660 Opening Event from Friday 26 November. The main event kicks off on Friday 3 December with the final table to be played on Monday 6 December.
A Star spokesperson told PokerMedia Australia, “While we were disappointed not to see WPT Australia go ahead as planned due to border uncertainty, we are thrilled to announce the Summer Series and welcome Queensland players back to The Star Gold Coast for the first big poker tournament since WPTDeepStacks.”
Satellites to the main event start this coming Monday 1 November.
