Australian high stakes specialist Michael Addamo has moved past 2005 WSOP main event champion Joe Hachem and into first place on Australia’s all-time money list after capping a crazy week with victory in Super High Roller Bowl VI.
The US$3.4 million prize takes Addamo’s winnings in the past week alone to more than US$5.2 million after he also won two events in last week’s Poker Masters, where he was crowned Player of the Series.
He entered this week’s Super High Roller Bowl VI sitting in third on Australia’s money list behind Hachem and Kahle Burns but jumped both in one fell swoop to reach US$13.5 million in live career earnings. Hachem has career earnings of US$12.7 million and Burns US$10.7 million, not including their feats on the virtual felt.
Interviewed immediately after his latest success in the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas, Addamo said his remarkable run had yet to sink in but “maybe after a week with some good sleep and rest that I’ll be like, ‘All right, that was an insane week’.”
Addamo bested 3-time WSOP bracelet winner Justin Bonomo heads-up for the Super High Roller Bowl VI title.
