The news all Sydneysiders have been waiting for has finally arrived after The Star Sydney announced the return of the Sydney Champs in July.
Scheduled to run across 13 days from 21 July until 2 August, the Sydney Champs represents the first major casino-based tournament series at The Star Sydney since all poker was cancelled in 2020 due to the spread of COVID-19 nationwide. It will also be just the second major casino-based tournament series in Australia since the pandemic, following on from this month’s WPTDeepStacks series at The Star Gold Coast.
Registrations for the 2021 Sydney Champs open at midday on Monday 24 May, with the series to offer a total of nine events including the $3,000 buy-in Main Event starting Friday 30 July.
Other highlights include the $750 Opening Event from Wednesday 21 July, a $5k Challenge from Wednesday 28 July and an $1,100 Monster Stack from Sunday 1 August.
