PokerMedia Australia is pleased to announce that it has signed a deal with the World Poker Tour (WPT) to provide live reporting services for the upcoming WPTDeepStacks Gold Coast Main Event, to be held at The Star Gold Coast from 27 to 31 May 2021.
Under the terms of the agreement, the PokerMedia Australia (PMA) team will provide live reporting of the WPTDeepStacks Gold Coast Main Event via PMA’s new live reporting module, which will be accessible through the PMA website at pokermedia.com.au. The team will also provide photography and some video services from the floor of The Star Gold Coast Poker space.
WPTDeepStacks Gold Coast represents a significant milestone for the Australian poker industry as the first major poker tournament casino-based poker event to be held since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic last year.
It is also just the second time the WPT has visited The Star Gold Coast following the hugely successful WPT Australia in October 2019.
The upcoming WPTDeepStacks Gold Coast series is scheduled to run from 21 to 31 May featuring a total of 10 events. The $1,500 WPTDeepStacks Gold Coast Main Event will include three day one flights on 27, 28 and 29 May respectively.
The WPT’s live reporting partnership with PokerMedia Australia will see coverage provided by Australian poker’s most experienced team of journalists and commentators.
Australia’s leading source of news and informed commentary relating to the local poker industry, PMA has been covering the local poker scene for more than 15 years and is the only outlet to have witnessed, and written about, the game’s many triumphs and tribulations in that time first hand.
PMA embarked on an expansion and relaunch in January 2020 that has seen it cement its position as the leading media outlet for the Australian poker industry.
The WPT is the premier name in internationally televised gaming and entertainment with brand presence in land-based tournaments, television, online and mobile. Credited with igniting the global poker boom back in 2002, it has broadcast globally in more than 150 countries and territories.
WPTDeepStacks is touted as the WPT’s “cutting edge” approach to mid-major poker tournaments.
