Crown Poker has announced that scheduling for next year’s Aussie Millions at Crown Melbourne has been placed on hold pending further updates on health and safety regulations around COVID-19.
In a notice posted on social media, Crown Poker said scheduling was on hold until further notice but that it was “working with the Victorian Government and health authorities to determine if and when such events can be safely revisited.
“We look forward to scheduling these long-standing annual events when it is deemed safe for us to do so.”
Crown said it expects to know more details on whether the Crown Melbourne poker room can open at all in the short-term by the end of the month.
The 2020 Aussie Millions was one of the last major tournament series held in Australia before the COVID-19 pandemic shut the industry down. Crown Melbourne, which closed its doors on 23 March, reopened for some VIP play earlier this week although its main gaming floor remains closed.
