Australia’s Robert Campbell has won his second WSOP gold bracelet and become the first player to win two bracelets at this year’s series after taking down the $10,000 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better on Thursday.
The victory continues a remarkable series for Campbell, who also won the $1,500 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball event as well as making two more final tables, finishing fifth in the $10,000 Omaha Eight or Better and seventh in the $1,500 Razz. Incredibly, Campbell had reached seven WSOP final tables before finally clinching his first victory but has more than made amends this Las Vegas summer.
His latest victory adds another US$385,763 to the US$144,027 he collected two weeks ago and propels him to the top of the Player of the Year leaderboard.
The 35-year-old is the 19th Australian to win a WSOP gold bracelet and just the ninth to do so in Las Vegas.
