AIFC: SPORTS STARS CUT THE DECK FOR CHARITY

Off the back of two great events in Geelong and Ballarat recently, expectation is high for the upcoming All In For Charity poker event to be held in Mornington this Saturday night, September 3rd, at Mornington Racecourse.

A host of sporting stars will be in attendance for this high end celebrity poker tournament, and they want locals to play.

Brendan Fevola, Wayne Carey, Shane Warne, Joe and Tony Hachem, Campbell Brown, Marc Murphy, Mark Harvey and Trevor Marmalaide will be just some of the headline players at the Mornington All In For Charity event, with tickets starting from $165.

Hosted by Michael Roberts, the tournaments prize pool consists of over $50,000 in prizes including a trip to Vegas for 2 people. Promising to be a night full of glitz and glamour, the event will be taking advantage of the newly 5 million dollar renovated Mornington Racing Club.

The All in for charity event, which is now in it’s 8th year, supports The National Breast Cancer Foundation to help realise its vision of ‘zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030.’ Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australian women (excluding non-melanoma skin cancer), and although survival rates are improving, there is still much work to do.

"As a poker player I am always keen to help raise awareness for wonderful charities like the National Breast Cancer Foundation especially through a fantastic vehicle like All In For Charity," says poker legend Joe Hachem.

Brendon Fevola, too, has been a consistent supporter, "I have been involved with All In For Charity for over 7 years. The inaugural Mornington event is a very special one for me as we are raising funds for National Breast Cancer Foundation. Being a father of 3 girls, and a husband, I can only hope that I never experience what a lot of families have with this traumatic disease".

Finally, Shane Warne is never to far from a poker table, "the game of poker is close to my heart and to be helping raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation through All In For Charity is a very special thing".

The event itself promises to be one of the biggest night’s on Mornington’s social calendar. To purchase last-minute tickets head to http://mrc.racing.com/calendar/2016-09-03/all-in-for-charity-poker-tournament.
