CROWN POKER: Hachem jnr leads field after ANZPT Melbourne opening flight

A quality line-up of 224 players took to the Crown Poker tables yesterday for the opening flight of the first ANZPT Melbourne Repechage Main Event in the wake of more bad news for the handful of online poker sites still offering their services to Australian players.

Just 33 players bagged chips at the end of the day with Anthony Hachem (395,000), the oldest son of Crown ambassador Joe Hachem and winner of an Aussie Millions championship ring earlier this year, holding a big lead over Dale Marsland (180,000).

The second day one flight of the $1100 buy-in Main Event is underway at Crown while a third will start at 12.10pm tomorrow. It seems unlikely that the guarantee of $750,000 will be met, meaning a small overlay may be on offer for Australia’s best tournament players this weekend.
