WSOP APAC daily wrap – April 13

The battle for the first WSOP APAC Main event title is heating up after the field was slashed to just 98 players on day two at Crown Melbourne.

The field topped out at a respectable 405 players, creating a total prizepool of almost $3.9 million. The top 40 players are assured at least $20,392 while the winner will take home just over $1 million and the coveted WSOP APAC championship gold bracelet.

After the first 11 levels of play, it’s well known Macau poker figure Winfred Yu who holds the chip lead ahead of 2013 Aussie Millions Opening Event winner Rupert Elder from the UK. Day one chip leader Daniel Negreanu remains in contention for his fifth WSOP title, lying fifth overall in chips.
