NPL: Quarterly Final kicks-off League’s year to remember

2013 is shaping up as one of the biggest in the history of the National Poker League after news broke over the Christmas/New Year period that the first NPL Million will be played at The Star in Sydney later this year.

In case you missed it, the ever-popular NPL500 has been replaced with the NPL Million – a four-day event that will offer an anticipated prizepool of more than AUD $1 million.

The NPL Million will be played at The Star in late-November/early-December, with tickets (valued at $2000) up for grabs at select regional and monthly finals, at NPL Special Events and through NPL promotions. Direct buy-ins will be available closer to the event.

In the meantime, the NPL spotlight will shine on the Parramatta Leagues Club this weekend for the first NPL Quarterly Final of 2013.

Based on a field of 300 runners, the prizepool will comprise a massive $150,000 – $138,000 in cash and six NPL Million tickets (valued at $12,000).

Both days will kick-off at 11am with registration from 9.30am on Saturday and 16 levels of 40 minutes scheduled for the first day. Players will start with a stack of 20,000 in tournament chips (complete structure here).
