In an exciting announcement to kick-off 2013, the National Poker League (NPL) have released details of one of the most ambitious pub/club poker events ever scheduled – the NPL Million.
In the wake of the success of the NPL500 III played at The Star in Sydney last year, which, like the previous two editions of the NPL500 at the Easts Leagues Club and Parramatta Leagues Club offered the maximum prizepool of $550,000, the NPL has upped the ante in dramatic fashion.
The NPL Million will be played at The Star late in 2013 as a four-day event including two day one flights.
The PMA team watched Victor Teng prevail after two long days and 31 levels of play to be crowned NPL500 III champion, outlasting a stacked field featuring several well known poker pros and scores of National Poker League qualifiers.
Teng became the third NPL500 champion and was listed as the winner of a prize package valued at $200,000 including $102,000 in cash, an Audi A4 2.0L TFSI S-Line and a $3000 NPLWT Manila ticket for his efforts.
Tickets for the NPL Million (valued at $2000) will be up for grabs at select regional and monthly finals, at NPL Special Events and through NPL promotions.
