The Opening Event of the 2012 Star Poker Summer Series is well on track to smash through last year’s field of 583 players after 277 players took their seats for the first of three day one flights at The Star last night.
Just 48 players will be back for day two on Saturday after surviving 11 levels of 40-minutes in the $330 buy-in No Limit Hold’em tournament. Thanks to the Repechage format, many of the players KOed last night were expected to be back for tonight’s second flight, while the third flight is scheduled to start at 12.30pm tomorrow (Friday).
Event two on the Star Poker Summer Series schedule is one of the more innovative tournaments played as part of a major Australian series. Starting tomorrow night (Friday) at 10pm, the $500 Late Night Poker tournament is a No Limit Hold’em affair featuring 25-minute levels and a starting stack of 8000.
