The SKYCITY Festival of Poker, New Zealand’s most prestigious tournament series, culminates today with one player set to walk away with a first prize of NZD $107,640 and the exclusive SKYCITY Festival of Poker bracelet valued at more than NZD $5000.
The final table has been decided for the 2012 Festival of Poker Main Event and, not surprisingly, local players will dominate the line-up at SKYCITY Auckland this afternoon.
Auckland resident Jamie Mulligan holds a comfortable lead over the other eight players. They include West Australian Patrick Healy, who placed fifth in the 2012 Aussie Millions Main Event, and Graeme ‘Kiwi G’ Putt; the short stack entering the final table.
The list of players to have already collected one of the 24 spots in the money includes Cole Swannack (13th), Angie Fitzgerald (17th) and Michael Guzzardi (18th).
Along with the cash prize from the guaranteed prize pool a very special bracelet will be awarded to the winner of the Main Event.
Crafted by the talented jewellers at Aurum Fine Jewellery (www.aurum.co.nz) the solid 9ct gold SKYCITY Festival of Poker plate inlayed with genuine New Zealand Ponamu on a sterling silver gold plated bracelet strap will give the player wearing it the ultimate respect in the New Zealand poker community.
