ADELAIDE CHAMPS: Main Event final table decided; Carlton the man to catch

The final table has been decided for the Adelaide Poker Championship Main Event with nine players scheduled to return to the Poker Zone today (Saturday) in pursuit of the $37,430 first prize.

Adam Carlton (734,000), who has already finished runner-up in two events on the Adelaide Champs schedule and held the chip lead heading into day two, will be hoping to go one better as he takes the chip lead into the final table.

He leads narrowly from Simon Beshara (666,000) and Nino Micic (601,000) although with blinds at 5000/10,000 and an ante of 1000, only the short stack of Enzo Demizio (177,000) will be under any immediate threat.

Performance of the day came from Maria Tsakrios, who was down to just 3300 with the big blind at 3000. She shoved her remaining chips with K-3, was called by a player holding A-Q and looked in a world of hurt after a flop of A-Q-4. However, she made a runner-runner straight and never looked back. Her stack of 398,000 is just under the final table chip average.

Emmanuel ‘Curly’ Seal finished on the bubble with Rick Clarke (10th), Pete Dietrich (11th) and Ray Aoukar (12th) each taking home $3490. For those thinking of heading down to the Poker Zone today to catch some of the final table action from 12.15pm, a $350 No Limit Hold’em Terminator tournament will also start at 2.15pm.
