CROWN PERTH: Marsland the man to catch in Western Classic Main Event

It’s been a big couple of days at Crown Perth for Dale Marsland. Not only did the popular local secure victory along side Mile Krstanoski (pictured left) in the Western Classic teams event, Marsland finished atop the chip count after day two of the Main Event.

A field of 32 combos signed up for the $550 buy-in Teams Event, with the top four earning a slice of the $15,840 prizepool. Marsland and Krstanoski shared the first prize of $7000 while Richard Bailey and Marty Roach collected $4000 as runners-up.

Meanwhile Marsland topped the chip count after day two with 27 of the 101 remaining in the $2200 buy-in Western Classic Main Event. Holding 158,300 heading into day three, Marsland is still in the hunt to improve on his finish of third in 2010.

Play will continue down to the final table in the Main Event today at Crown Perth before tonight’s $5000 High Stakes No Limit Hold’em Event. The Main Event final table will start at 2.10pm tomorrow (Sunday), followed shortly after by the $550 No Limit Hold’em six-handed tournament at 3pm.
