It seems like just five weeks since PokerStars last run an event at Crown Melbourne, but the world’s biggest online poker site is back with the first event in season five of its regional tour.
The ANZPT series runs through until October 29 and includes a wide array of tournaments. Action is already underway in the $250 Opening Event with the third and fourth day one flights schedule for tomorrow (Saturday) before Sunday’s finale.
After a successful debut during the last PokerStars event, a $50 No Limit Hold’em event has again been scheduled offering a $100,000 guarantee. In another innovation from the Crown Poker team, players are able to play all eight day one flights while paying for just six.
Other events on the 2012 schedule include a $150 and $350 NLH Deep Stack, Crown’s regular $200 NLH Mega Stack, $350 NLH Terminator, $1100 NLH Six-handed and $300 NLH Teams. There will also be a $350 Seven-Game Mixed Event, $250 Pot Limit Omaha and $350 No Limit Hold’em/Pot Limit Hold’em Deep Stack before the series culminates in the $2200 ANZPT Melbourne Main Event.
An interstate teams challenge, modelled on the State of Origin format so popular with players in recent years, will also be played on Wednesday, October 24.
