PUB POKER: Spring is in the air for Aussie Hold’em players

Amid a busy schedule of events in the weeks leading up to the end of 2012, the Newcastle region will host three of the biggest with the first kicking-off on Wednesday.

The Newcastle Poker Championships (NPC) Spring Series, hosted by Aussie Hold’em Poker at Club Macquarie in Argenton, is scheduled to run from October 10-14.

Aussie Hold’em Poker managing director Marty Wooster said the Spring Series events were carefully chosen in consultation with players to offer value, variety and serious competition.

“Over the next few years we aim to continue to deliver the best structured, professionally run tournaments players can ever experience outside of the major world tournaments such as WSOP and the Aussie Millions,” Wooster said.

“In keeping with our belief that the cost of playing in NPC events should be within the budget of all poker players we will continue to offer games that start at the Freeroll level up to High Roller events.”

The 2012 Spring Series will feature three $55 buy-in tournaments, a $165 Main Event (run over two days with 30-minute levels and a 20,000-start stack) and a $550 High Roller event (30-minute levels, a 20,000-start stack, antes after level four and dealers at every table).
