To say it’s been a tough year for the World Poker Player Tour (WPPT) would be an understatement. However, the inaugural season is set to end on a high with a solid turnout for the final event of the year.
Back on home soil, the $1100 buy-in WPPT Tweed Heads Main Event attracted a field of almost 60 players including some of the biggest names in Aussie poker. The top eight players will be paid with the winner taking home $18,000.
It was Adam Peck who topped the count on day 1A on 214,000 while day 1B chip leader Adam Carlton takes the biggest stack into day two (237,000).
Also among the 35 players back in action at Seagulls Club today are Ricky Kroesen, Mitch Caton, Minh Nguyen, Mishel Anunu, Josh Rimmington, Tom Wing, Jack Drake, Rob Dickfos, Chris Levick and Jesse McKenzie.
Also on offer over the weekend at Seagulls are two side events – a $220 buy-in NLHE tournament at 2pm today (10,000 chips and 30-minute levels) and a $550 buy-in NLHE tournament at 2pm tomorrow (20,000 chips and 30-minute levels).
