ASIA: Cambodia the latest country to embrace poker

The steady growth in the popularity of poker across the Asian continent is set to take another significant step in Cambodia this November with the first sanctioned tournament along the casino strip bordering Vietnam.

An enthusiastic team is behind the event, which will be played at the Titan King Casino in Bavet City, which is located in the southeast province of Svay Rieng between the capitals of Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) and Phnom Penh (Cambodia).

Representing the PSWAsian team, Ly Ly told PMA that although for the opening event are modest, the first PSW Poker Tour event marks a major step in the development of poker throughout the region.

The PSW Poker Tour event will be a USD $550 buy-in No Limit Hold’em played on November 17-18. Players will start with 20,000 in chips and levels are 30 minutes.

Uniquely, players can elect to pay an additional USD $100 for a package that includes the entry fee, a night at the hotel, transportation from Ho Chi Minh City and a breakfast buffet. A luxury room is available for an additional USD $29.
