NEWS: Australia’s newest poker TV show set to premiere

The first locally produced TV poker programming since The Poker Star and Australian Poker Hero will premiere tomorrow night (Tuesday) on ONE.

Billed as Australia’s first interactive TV poker show, Poker Showdown is hosted by well known Aussie poker identity Rob Huxley and Emma Lancaster (pictured above).

Here’s how it works – Hux and Emma will play eight Texas Hold’em games which will include one board and four (4) starting hand choices – A, B, C & D. Among these four choices, one hand will be the highest ranked hand.

Viewers must text in which hand they think is the best, and at the completion of the Poker Showdown clock, a random winner will be drawn from the winning pool and that person will win a Sanity Gift Card. More than $1500 in prizes will be up for grabs each night.

To enter, text your name, postcode and answer A, B, C & D to 199 200 00, then keep watching to see if you’re a winner!

Poker Showdown premieres on ONE at 9.30pm on Tuesday, August 28 throughout regional areas of the country. For more information, check out
