NZ POKER: Allan the man to catch after Snowfest day 2

David Allan started the day with the chip lead and finished as the man to catch with 31 players remaining in the APPT/ANZPT/NZPT Queenstown Snowfest Main Event.

Entering day three with 280,000 in chips, Allan’s closest challengers are fellow Australians David Zhao (242,300), Michael Kanaan (239,100) and Ricky Kroesen (201,000).

The lack of space at SKYCITY Queenstown meant players had to endure a highly unorthodox day two, and those who bowed out in the course of the two sessions included sponsored player Roy Bhasin, Leo Boxell, Danny Chevalier, Hung-shen Lin, Andrew Hinrichsen, James Honeybone, Jarred Graham and Anthony Aston.

Other notables returning for a shot at one of the 15 spots in the money include Billy Argyros, Matthew Wakeman, Bryan Huang and Aaron Benton. Two female players – Tatjana Zizic and Kristina Griffiths also remain in contention along with Kristina’s husband Mark Griffiths.
