The Perth Poker Championships Main Event kicked-off at Burswood yesterday, with a field of 89 contenders hitting the felt for the $1100 buy-in tournament.
Not surprisingly, the field was dominated by local players and by day’s end, 42 remained with Burswood regular Peter Zaknic topping the count on 91,100. Day 1B is scheduled to start at 12.30pm local time today.
Meanwhile, more results roll in from preliminary events including Michael Anderson’s victory in the $330 buy-in No Limit Hold’em event over a field of 104 runners.
Stev Lackovic also added his name to the honour roll by winning the $550 No Limit Hold’em Six-handed event. He conquered a field of 86 players to pocket the $14,200 first prize while Luch Monte and John Aufdemkampe added another cash to their results for the series.
