The inaugural Perth Championships kicked-off at Burswood last night with a good-sized field of 97 players signing on for the $120 No Limit Hold’em with Rebuys event.
The cash flew thick and fast to help generate a tasty prizepool of $43,400 with the top 11 players earning a slice of the pie.
Local player Ben Breadsell (pictured left) picked up his second major victory for 2012 after taking out the $5000 Chinese Poker event at the Aussie Millions.
This victory takes his tournament winnings for the year to almost $70,000. John Delvecchio was runner-up while Barry Dougray finished third.
The series continues tonight with the $150 Ladies No Limit Hold’em Deepstack Challenge before a massive weekend of action in the $550 No Limit Hold’em Repechage/Accumulator.
