STATE CHAMPS: NSW’s best hit the felt this weekend

The first round of 888PL/APL State Championships for 2012 kicks-off with a massive weekend of poker at Club Central Hurstville in NSW.

First up on Saturday (April 14) is the NSW State Championships, offering a guaranteed prizepool of $60,000 and a total of 24 seats to the next MAIN EVENT. The winner will also take home $8000 in cash.

Then on Sunday, the State’s best of the best will return to the felt for the April 2012 edition of the NSW Pro Open. This $110 buy-in event, which regularly attracts fields of more than 400 players, features a $25,000 guaranteed prizepool.

But the added carrot for Pro Open entrants is the first prize package that includes a spot on TeamWSOP, which will again jet to Las Vegas this year to contest the WSOP Main Event for a shot at poker immortality and millions of dollars in prizemoney.

Keep an eye on PMA over the weekend for updates from Club Central Hurstville as NSW’s best players take to the felt.
