Ross Parkhill wasted little time dispatching Michal Polchlopek to the rail to claim the 2012 Aussie Millions Feature Event title and the first prize of almost AUD $120,000.
Despite starting with almost even stacks, the Northern Irishman’s pocket deuces improved to a full house on a board of 2s-Jh-5h-7c-5s against the Ah-5d of Polchlopek, with the money going in after the river.
The ever-popular Feature Event and its unique format again attracted a big field with 315 players taking their seats, and 32 returning to battle for the title on day two.
The final table featured another impressive line-up including 2009 Aussie Millions Main Event fifth-place finisher Sam Capra, 2007 Aussie Millions Limit Hold’em champ Jamie Pickering, 2012 Aussie Millions NLHE Shootout runner-up Oliver Speidel and former number one ranked Australian online player James Obst.
Other notables to cash included last week’s NLHE/PLO winner Aaron Lim (10th), Australian Poker Hall of Famer Billy Argyros (12th), last week’s NLHE Shootout winner Sandeep Pulusani (13th), Aleks Brkovic (14th), Melanie Weisner (15th), Harry Demetriou (25th), Vesko Zmukic (28th) and Tom Rafferty (29th).
