Progressive local betting site tomwaterhouse.com is the first to post odds for the 2012 Aussie Millions Main Event.
Waterhouse said cricket superstar Shane Warne is $51 to make the final table of this year’s Aussie Millions Main Event as the world’s poker elite arrives in Melbourne for three weeks of high-stakes tournament action that gets under way at Crown Casino tonight.
“Warnie’s not just a champion cricketer, he’s an extremely good poker player as well because he’s been tutored by some of the very best, including 2005 world champion Joe Hachem,” Tom Waterhouse, Managing Director of tomwaterhouse.com, said.
“Warnie’s going to have to outlast several hundreds of the world’s leading No Limit Texas Hold’em players to make the Aussie Millions Main Event final table but he can do it if he plays his cards right.”
tomwaterhouse.com has framed Make The Final Table markets on two other Melbourne-based big names – Hachem ($21) and reigning Aussie Millions Main Event champion David Gorr ($34).
In contrast, you can take a punt that Warne, Hachem or Gorr will miss this year’s final table, but Waterhouse isn’t offering too many favours with a price of $1.01 on any of the trio.
The 2012 Aussie Millions Main Event starts on Sunday, January 22 at 12.30pm. We’ll keep an eye on other sportsbooks if further odds are offered for the 2012 Aussie Millions Main Event.
