GOLD COAST CHAMPS: McKenzie poised for another deep run

A total of 104 players will return to the felt at Jupiters Hotel and Casino today in pursuit of the inaugural Gold Coast Poker Championships Main Event title. Poker manager Martin Coughlan confirmed the field at 226 players, with a first prize of AUD $58,000 up for grabs and 25 players set to share in a slice of the total prizepool of AUD $226,000.

Kahle Burns remains the overall chip leader but he has little breathing space after Adrian Taufik bagged 83,350 at the end of day 1B. Jesse McKenzie continued his stellar 2011, finishing second on the day 1B chip count as he sets out to add to his four ANZPT cashes for the year. Other notables who’ll return today include Lisa Walsh, Karsten Kobbing, Greg Shillig, Kosta Varoxis and Milo Nadalin.
