The Karamalikis Cup will be just one of the highlights of the 2011 Adelaide Poker Championship, which runs from October 21-29 at Adelaide Casino.
One of Australia’s most successful players of the past three years, Jonathan xmonsterxdongx Karamalikis’ live CV includes back-to-back ANZPT Sydney High Roller titles, the 2010 APPT Sydney Main Event crown and an Aussie Millions championship ring for victory in last year’s $1500 Bounty Event. He’s also earned almost $3 million in online tournaments, including a prestigious Pocket 5s Triple Crown.
The Karamalikis Cup will be played on Wednesday, October 26 from 2.15pm under a No Limit Hold’em Six-Handed format, with a buy-in of $2750, starting stack of 20,000 and 30-minute levels.
Adelaide Casino Poker Zone manager David Galpin said the Karamalikis Cup was sure to attract some of Australia’s finest tournament players. “We anticipate a prize pool of a more than $100,000 and are delighted to have Jonathan, one of Australia’s most successful poker players, lend his name to this event. Jonathan has been very enthusiastic in his support of the Adelaide Champs,” Galpin said.
The Adelaide Poker Championship schedule features 13 events and six satellites over nine days. Highlights include Poker Industry events, a Ladies Hold’em event and a ‘Triple Chance’ event where the winner will be honoured with naming rights (for a similar tournament). The first Australian Deaf Poker Championship to be held in an Australasian casino has also been added to the Adelaide Champs schedule.
