The focus shifts from Las Vegas and the 2012 World Series of Poker to Macau for the next major event on the international tournament calendar. Anticipation is building up as the Asian Poker Tour’s return to Macau kicks off on July 25 at the StarWorld Hotel (pictured above).

As always, the APT will attract players from across the region including some of the world’s foremost names, including APT ambassador Joe Hachem. This seven-day event, running from July 25-31, will be held at the extravagant StarWorld Hotel’s Ballroom located on level 8.

The event opens up with the Asian Heads-up Championship, which is limited to 64 players. Also added to the schedule are two Step Satellites to the HKD $100,000 PokerAce High Rollers Event on July 26. The HKD $25,000 Main Event starts on July 27 with Day 1A with Day 1B the following day and satellites running daily. Completing the schedule are the Charity, Head Hunter, Ladies of Poker, Deep Stack Turbo, Six Handed and Freezeout events.

After a new champion is crowned amid the gleaming lights of Macau, attention turns to a new event on the APT schedule – APT Asian Series Mauritius 2012. To be staged from August 19-26 at the Ti Vegas Casino, Grand Bay, Mauritius, the week long poker festival will feature a Main Event buy-in of €900 with eight side events, including a ladies event, with buy-ins ranging from €110 to €440 as well a high rollers event with a buy-in of €2200.
